Last month, the UK Government released its long-anticipated report, Curriculum and Assessment Review: Building a World-Class Curriculum for All. While the review focuses on England, its message is resonating globally—especially in places like Bermuda, where many schools follow British and international curriculum pathways.

At the heart of meaningful education is a simple but powerful truth: no school—and no community - thrives in isolation. This belief sits at the centre of the No School Is an Island conference and the wider work of the Chatmore Foundation, where kindness, partnership, and collaboration are understood not as abstract ideals, but as practical drivers of meaningful change.

October 2025 was a reminder that Bermuda lives at the frontline of a changing climate. With an unusually busy late hurricane season and multiple systems tracking close to the island, Bermudians once again prepared, adapted, and recovered, drawing on generations of lived experience with the Atlantic.

Bermuda’s population is changing, and with it comes an important opportunity: to better recognise, support, and engage the people whose experience has helped shape our island.
